Welcome to our digital anthology, featuring the work of our 2011 Summer Young Writers. We are so fortunate to have been able to build such a wonderful community of writers, both instructors and students alike, and this time was as inspiring for us as we hope it was for those who spent two swelteringly hot weeks exploring and writing in and around Oakland. To all of our Young Writers – you never cease to amaze us with your creativity and ability to construct words, and it has been a learning experience for all of us to get to work with you. We sincerely hope to see you back with us in the very near future; your work and your ideas are what creates and keeps going the important community of writers you have become a part of. We hope you enjoy reading the breadth of writing everyone has produced throughout our two weeks together. You guys are amazing!
